You've got your Classical strings and you've got your better Classical strings. Typical Ball End Nylon strings were created as a convenience to players who either didn't want to take the time to tie the ends of regular Classical strings, or they didn't know how to tie them. As a general rule, string companies used standard type (not hi-grade) classical strings, and then put the ball on.
